Research Writer Interview With Cindy
It's True. I Won a Car!
Welcome Cindy! It’s good to see you.
Thanks! It’s good to be seen!
So Cindy, tell us about your writing experience.
I wrote all the time in college, of course, and received A’s on both my senior thesis and senior tutorial papers and presentations. I graduated with honors. My degree is in criminal justice, but I also have a lot of political experience, working on Capitol Hill and writing speeches, memos, and reports for a U.S. Senator. I went on to graduate school, where I maintained a 4.0 cumulative GPA mainly because most of the assignments were essays (thank goodness!) That was for my MPA. I also have 2 years of legal experience, writing complex motions and pleadings for prosecuting attorneys, and 4 years of grant-writing experience for both government and non-profit organizations. Through my writing, I was able to secure for those organizations more than $300,000 in awarded grant money.
On a much more fun note, I entered an essay contest a few years ago held by a local radio station. I wrote a sappy, tear-jerking essay about my wonderful brother. I won, which meant that he won a car. They flew him out to surprise him with the car, give him the keys, and voice his response on the radio. It was awesome!
What sets you apart as a writer?
I feel that very few people are really good writers. I am highly critical of my own writing and the writings of others, and recognize top-quality work when I see it. It is a skill that is developed over years, decades, and sometimes even a lifetime. I am also a highly critical proofreader. I settle for nothing less than perfection. My proofreading skills have been sought out by students and business owners alike. I have also written business web pages. I especially know what professors are looking for in terms of high-quality papers and high standards of academic excellence.
Are you okay with someone asking specifically for you to write a custom paper?
I would be honored!
What do you currently do?
My dream job – I am a full-time mom to 3 beautiful children under the age of 4. While I love wiping runny noses and belting out my ABC’s, it’s also important to me to keep my brain actively learning and my skill sets sharp for the day when I do return to the workforce full-time.
What’s the most important thing to remember about writing a top-quality paper?
Its audience. Remember your audience. Get into the mind of the instructor and figure out not only what he or she expects, but also what he or she truly wants. I always ask myself, “What will knock their socks off?” The rest typically follows.
Why did you decide to write for Custom Essays?
It has a great reputation. My brother-in-law has been writing for Custom Essays for several years and always talks about how fun it is. I want to keep my research and writing skills polished, and this is by far the best way to do that. I remember what it’s like to be a college student, under the gun, with deadlines creeping up all over the place. I feel that I can be a great example, asset, and motivator to college students striving to succeed, and I’m ready, willing, and able to do just that!
